Manufacturing Process
Exhibition – Building Blocks for Berlin
Film installation 6 min. 1-channel video, 2-channel audio, 2008
The film shows the changes in firing from the traditional technique to the more efficient circular Hoffmann kiln, which in turn made the mass production of bricks possible. It presents the inventor Hoffman, while animation and archive footage show how the circular kiln functions. The image is shaped to be projected inside the vault of the firing tunnel.
