Cupola Room

Film installation – Exhibition Glorious Georges, Hampton Court Palace
4 Min. 2-channel HD video, 4-channel audio, 2014

The exhibition „The Glorious Georges“ celebrates the 300th anniversary of the Hanoverian accession to the British throne. The history of the early Georges and their court is animated by spectacular audio-visual installations that bring the Georgian Court to life. In the Cupola Room, two figures stand facing each other. With the sound of shoes on the wooden floor their shadows begin to move on the marble wall surfaces. Princess Amelia and the Duke of Grafton dance the minuet. Their motion combines with the space and the music to transport the visitor back into the time of George II.
