With three different locations in the city and a collection with an impressive variety of themes, the Historical Museum Basel is unique in the Basel museum landscape. In close collaboration with the museum, Duncan McCauley has developed a strategy for the HMB up to the year 2030. In workshops with employees, the current state of the museum was analysed and, based on this, the vision, mission and goals of the house were developed. These were further concretised in the form of planning measures and calculating resources. The new concept was developed with a view to the international character of the collection and is set out in the form of a strategy paper.
